I agree, it's annoying.

BTW, we had discussed this earlier.

1) set list so that you don't get the "you've been moderated email"
2) always add person's address to whitelist when accepting their
moderated posts

This works well (when the mailman list owner is relatively responsive
and proper spam filtering isn't working well-enough).
