oVirt Weekly Meeting Minutes -- 2012-06-13

Hi,

Apologies for the almost non-existent minutes on the OSAS section - my
meetbot foo is not strong.

To expand a little:

  * I presented OSAS briefly:
    * We're like Red Hat's community A-Team (but they have a better
theme tune)
    * You may be aware of a number of us already - Leslie Hawthorn has
helped organise workshops, Karsten Wade has been around since the start
of the open source project, set up the project infrastructure, and more,
Jason Brooks has been heavily involved in boot-strapping oVirt also, and
Carl Trieloff, a member of the oVirt board and main driver of oVirt's
open sourcing, is our boss
    * Our goal is to make all of the upstream projects Red Hat works
with wildly successful, and I'd like to spend some time helping oVirt
increase mindshare, adoption and contribution in the coming months.
  * The first thing I'm trying to get a handle on, and which I started a
thread on the Users list about, is the target audience of the project.
The website content and targeting and more will come from that.
  * Mike suggested that one or two nodes, with a separate computer for
engine, is the typical minimum set-up, even though it is hypothetically
possible to have a single-server set-up.
  * ewoud suggested wiki gardening as a high priority task, and quaid
and myself assured him that it was on the cards.

So - I really wanted to take the opportunity to present myself and kick
off our oVirt initiatives effort with the community during the meeting.

Thanks,
Dave.
