Comment:

 How is signing to be securely accomplished?  Is there an existing
 infrastructure for such?  Is there a counter-signed public key already up
 at the MIT keysevrer constellation for this usage

 Also, of course, ** signed ** MD5SUM files for the shasums of the tarballs
 also makes sense
