So looking at the logs, it actually tells us the problem:

The reason it is all working for me, is that I am using maven 3.05 and I guess 
this plugin breaks when you move to maven 3.1+. I am assuming our build is 
using a later version. Basically the only thing we can do is revert the patch, 
as the plugin I am using in that patch is incompatible with maven 3.1+
