It’s not so much feature itself, rather it’s integration into OSes. I think there was enough feedback, a random google search shows a load of issues reported at the time this dependency was introduced, so I hope they learned from it

IMO it was a bit hasty on their part, and we just didn’t have time to resolve all the virtlogd daemon management in RHEL and RHEVH in time
