It is like the engine does not even try to access this host.

After the 5 minutes wait there is the following:

2013-01-15 06:12:08,895 INFO [org.ovirt.engine.core.vdsbroker.SetVdsStatusVDSCommand] (pool-3-thread-49) [b4e1be9] START, SetVdsStatusVDSCommand(HostName = f18ovn03.ceda.polimi.it, HostId = 56b94303-99d4-48ca-bc73-b3ff9943270b, status=NonResponsive, nonOperationalReason=NONE), log id: 12c2e2ae
2013-01-15 06:12:08,901 INFO [org.ovirt.engine.core.vdsbroker.SetVdsStatusVDSCommand] (pool-3-thread-49) [b4e1be9] FINISH, SetVdsStatusVDSCommand, log id: 12c2e2ae

And then nothing.

Can you just confirm that vdsm is up on host and attach /var/log/vdsm/vdsm.log?

Thanks!
