Hi, I'm trying to migrate V2V from an ESXi 5 to oVirt 3.1 under CentOS 6.3 with virt-v2v<div><br></div><div>Steps:</div><div><br></div><div>- Allowed access from ssh on the ESXi box</div><div>- Created a /root/.netrc file with 600 file permission with content:</div>
<div>machine esxi_ip_address login root password root_password<br clear="all"><div>- Attached at the oVirt datacenter there's an export domain that is a local nfs share </div><div><br></div><div>When I execute as root:</div>
<div># [root@vm-server ~]# virt-v2v -ic esx://<a href="http://192.168.250.31/">192.168.250.31/</a> -o rhev -os 192.168.250.30:/oVirt/export -b ovirtmgmt VM_NAME</div><div><br></div><div>The following error is displayed. </div>
<div>virt-v2v: Failed to connect to esx://<a href="http://192.168.250.31/">192.168.250.31/</a>: libvirt error code: 45, message: authentication failed: Username request failed</div><div><br></div><div>What I could find is that is a libvirt bug, if I run the same command but as a non-root user, the error is that I need to be root to set -o rhev as a destination.</div>
<div> </div><div>Any idea if there any workaround ?</div><div>Regards.-</div><div><br></div><div><br></div>-- <br>AGD<br>
