What is the big hubbub around iSCSI any way? As far as I have been able to tell, the people with most storage-related problems are using iSCSI or Gluster, mostly iSCSI. So what is the lure there? What is the big excitement around it the makes everyone want
to use it, I don´t get it...

All of our core storage is served through NFS; both for our primary site with Netapp storage and VMWare, and our low-budget, open alternative the uses FreeBSD/ZFS storage and oVirt. Never an issue as far as storage is concerned, ever.
