I didn't fix it so far, because I didn't know what the problem was. I
only added logging, so now we can see:
https://jenkins.ovirt.org/job/ovirt-system-tests_standard-check-patch/9313//artifact/check-patch.basic_suite_master.el7.x86_64/test_logs/basic-suite-master/post-002_bootstrap_pytest.py/lago-basic-suite-master-engine/_var_log/ost-engine-backup/log.txt
2020-05-12 04:56:46 20796: Backing up files to
/tmp/engine-backup.lItumMvAHH/tar/files
tar: var/lib/ovirt-engine/ansible-runner-service.log: file changed as we read it
2020-05-12 04:56:47 20796: FATAL: Failed backing up /etc/ovirt-engine
...
Pushed this for a fix:
https://gerrit.ovirt.org/108973
Perhaps you can rebase on top of it for verification? Thanks.
I manually did this, on my laptop, for testing:
while true; do echo test; test; done >> f
and in parallel, ran tar on the directory.
This was the slowest version among the things I tried, that still
always made tar fail with that error. Faster versions filled up the
disk quickly, slower ones didn't trigger this, e.g., with this:
while true; do echo test; sleep 0; done >> f
tar didn't fail.
