For option 1, we need back-end support that enables in-time notification of completion percentage when uploading a file with 2 pieces of information: total file size, and received file size.
Seems download from remote needs backend support (we may query task id or enable async msg) and for upload, the UI can handle the process by itself, but it will not be globally available by every user. (A upload, B will not see the progress)
