Hi,

You are probably creating the VM as a dependent on the template (thin VM), it means that the VM's disk should be created on the same storage domain as the template disk.

In order to create the VM with a disk on a different storage domain, you can either create the VM as an independent (clone) or copy the template disk to the storage domain you want to create the VM disk on.
