I cannot seem to get a VM to import.  It was exported first to an export domain and shows up in the list of VMs on the domain when starting the import process, but when you get to the last dialog that should start the import you simply get an error message “Cannot import the VM.  VM’s Image does not exist.  No related event is logged in the overall event log when this happens.   Does not matter what data storage domain you pick for the new VM.
