wow, that's strange. I haven't seen this before. I suggest opening a bug on libvirt anyway.
I read this "solution" on some blog page, and based on that
installed avahi-daemon & messagebus + started them, only
then libvirtd started up. vdsmd wont tell you it's waiting for
libvirtd to start on the console, it'll mention in the log that
"it's waiting for libvirtd" and eventually will time out.
Granted, if these are the required dependencies, then definitely they should be installed.
I will look into this and try to understand what is it about.

Could you please elaborate a bit on these dependencies? Do you
have any logs that state the problem?
Regarding the rest of the problem (that is adding the host), we're
already looking into this.
