Building a new kit for a client, 3x servers each with a 5 disk RAID 5 10k SPIN and a 3 drive RAID 5 SSD

 I am thinking of doing a straight replica 3 GlusterFS, 1 for spin and 1 for SSD so

  a) all servers have technically local access to disks

  b) any server can die without much impact beyond awaiting migrate

 Is just a replica 3 best option for space + performance in a VM environment?

 Is there any specific tricks or traps I should look out for building such an environment? Any recommendations on why this is a good OR BAD idea?
