Hello

the oVirt hosts in my cluster have all 10GbE interfaces (bonded 2 by 2), and I was wondering if a single Linux VM with a virtio interface can reach for example 8Gbps.

Are you able from the host, first of all?

I'm asking because I'm seeing a 100% network usage in some VMs in ovirt VM dashboard but the real traffic in that VM is between 1-2Gbps.

You might be able to, but it's not easy. You'll need to use NUMA and set correctly the vCPUs pinning, perform correct tuning (multiple queues) and so on.  With SR-IOV I assume there's a better chance (lower latency), btw.

Traffic shown in the dashboard is averaged, is it a sustained 8Gbps or bursty?
Y.

Thanks
