We had some funkiness with hosted-engine and the steps Simone suggested is essentially what we went thru to get it all back to normal. Just remember to be patient, it seems the agent can take some time to poll all the hosts.

hosted-engine --set-maintenance --mode=global
hosted-engine --vm-shutdown
hosted-engine --vm-status # poll till the VM is down
hosted-engine --vm-start
hosted-engine --set-maintenance --mode=none
