Good for you,

For me it did not work, I can't attach the hosted_storage, when I try to do it, the VM engine crashes, but on reboot the hosted_storage still unattached so I can't activate it.

Wodel could you please report your engine rpm version?

Well, finaly it's ok. Import of hosted_storage has crashed my engine but on restart i can activate this storage and then the HostedEngine VM appears.

The "Enable Global HA Maintenance" is available.

I think the "Global Maintenance Mode" is linked to the hosted_engine VM, you won't see it as long as the VM engine is not shown in webui.
you call still do it using the command line hosted-engine --set-maintenance --mode=global

I try your solution « import the hosted_storage into your DC » but the result is the same ... crash of ovirt engine.

My environment is composed with
- two hosts installed with hosted-engine --deploy approach
- one additionnal host installed by web UI
- CentOS 7.1, no firewall, no selinux
- static IP, Bonding + VLAN
- NFS Storage (NetApp)

This link http://www.ovirt.org/Features/Hosted_Engine_configuration_on_shared_storage announce the possibility to deploy hosted engine node by Web UI. I don't find a way to make this possible.

On 3.5 version, in Web UI, I can active "Global Maintenance Mode" with right click. I don't see that functionnality in 3.6RC ?

Hi,
I am a user like you, I have been testing ovirt 3.6 since the first beta.
For the hosted_engine not being shown in webui, according to ovirt team, you have bring up your DC by creating a storage domain, then you have to import the hosted_storage into your DC, after that you will be able to see the VM engine.
This didn't work for me until now, every time I import the hosted_storage to the DC, the VM engine crashes.
My test environment contains only one hypervisor + NFS storage.
Could please share your test environment, and if you test the import of hosted_storage, could you please share the result.
 Thanks

Hi everybody,

We have planned to migrate from xen open source to ovirt and we study the differences between 3.5.4 version and 3.6. I have some questions about this differences :

- In 3.6RC, we don't see anymore the HostedEngine virtual machine in ovirt. My install is correct or this feature is not available anymore ?
- In 3.6RC, my windows virtual machine status show an orange exlamation point which indicates " Actual operating system type differs from the configuration ". I don't know what is wrong, the operating system is correct and my vm works well.

Thanks for your answers,

S.J
