Can you share the output from `cat /proc/cmdline` and perhaps the grub.conf ?
Imgbased adds a bootid and perhaps it's missing for some reason

I have the same problem with ovirt-node-ng-image-update-4.2.7-0.1.rc1.el7.noarch.rpm
If I undo the installation (imgbase base --remove=ovirt-node-ng-image-update-4.2 ..... and yum remove ovirt-node-ng-image-update-4.2 .....) and repeat the installation, I can reproduce the behavior (install, reboot, every works with the new version, reboot, node status: DEGRADED)
Have this behavior on four test servers.
