Looks like it's missing the ovirt repo on the kvm server.

Correct. I'm wondering if there's an easy way to check for an existence of a repo, thus providing a more concrete error message to the user.
I think yum repolist might be useful, but I don't like it use of a free text (instead of the URL or some canonical ID for a repo...)
