I want to add a node to an existing ovirt installation. 

Previously, the only thing that was required to add a new node, was a simple install of centos on the new machine.

No, using centos you need to install the ovirt-release43 rpm in order to provide needed repos.
We have ansible roles for it if needed.

No, I didn't install the RPM. From past experience (and according to the docs here) you don't need to as it takes care of it. Few months ago when I tested it, it worked well on a new CentOS install.

This is not required if you use ovit-node:

Otherwise you need to install that rpm:
