New oVirt deployment suggestions

Hello! I'm almost ready to start with a new oVirt deplyment. I will use CentOS 7, self hosting engine and glusert storage. I have 3 phisical host. Each host has four NIC. My first idea is: - configure bond betwheen NICs - configure a VLAN interface for management network (and local lan) - configure a VLAN interface for gluster network - configure gluster for the hosted engine - start "hosted-engine --deploy" process is this enough? do I need a phisical dedicated NIC for management network? Bye

Unless you have a reason to use CentOS, I suggest you use oVirt node, it is much more optimized out of the box for oVirt On Thu, Sep 27, 2018 at 2:25 PM Stefano Danzi <s.danzi@hawai.it> wrote:

You can try installing them. We're not using these tools on g9 blades, and still monitoring through iLO. Luca Il 27 set 2018 2:07 PM, "Stefano Danzi" <s.danzi@hawai.it> ha scritto: Hi! Also I would not create a single bond for use with gluster and management (even on different VLAN), gluster can saturate 4x1Gbe ports easily, specially during healing and this would trigger fencing since engine would start getting timeouts when trying to reach hosts. I would suggest creating 2 bonded interfaces (2 x 1G each), with one dedicated for gluster or get a dedicated 10G nic for gluster. Last time asked for other reasons on September, it seems not so soon. See Edward's message here: https://www.mail-archive.com/users@ovirt.org/msg50866.html HIH, Gianluca

Thanks for the informtion. The possibility of configuring teams in node generated me confusion. Il 08/10/2018 10:44, Gianluca Cecchi ha scritto:

You should be using shared external storage or glusterfs, if gluster you should have other drives in the server to porvision as gluster bricks during the hyoerconverged deployment On Mon, Oct 8, 2018, 8:07 AM Stefano Danzi, <s.danzi@hawai.it> wrote:

Thaks for the reply. sda is a virual disk because server has an hardware array controller. So I have to split sda in two smaller disks. Il 08/10/2018 17:24, Jayme ha scritto:
