Ok. I found out this are symbolic links to the gluster mounts. After creating the missing symbolic link manually, the VM started as expected.
So there is some bug somwhere causing the symbolic link to be deleted / not re-created.
I will try to reproduce.

But the file is present on the gluster storage, which is mounted in /rhev/data-center/mnt/glusterSD/.
What is this /rhev/data-center/00000002-0002-0002-0002-000000000183 directory for? And why is ovirt/libvirt trying to find the image on another location instead of the gluster mount?
