I'm looking at doing something similar with 3 node HCI setup currently running Ovirt 4.5 w/ CentOS8 node NG. I want to move to EL9 node but keep gluster config in tact. Not a very complicated path, but you have to reinstall from scratch each of your node considering that some hardware (like some HBA's qlogic controller) may be unsupported in el9. Good luck.
