Can you provide the versions of the missing parts of your stack? 
libvirt (on the hypervisor host) 
qemu (same) 
OS (same)

This is not relevant to your issue

emulation is done by QEMU, which has VERY terse logging. Anyway, its logs are in /var/log/libvirt/qemu/$VM_NAME.log
