In version 3 (not yet part of EPEL) this was improved and certificate auth was implemented: https://support.nagios.com/kb/article.php?id=519 As we're planning to move the monitoring instance ( OVIRT-502 ) it would be best to have authentication in place to get rid of IP whitelisting.
