In the long run, we could also create dedicated security related page referenced from the main menu/front page.

+1, I think this is a good idea. The existing security page on the wiki could be expanded to include more content than just the mailing list information.

Would that be possible?

We want security bugs to be sent to security mailing lists, not to the development mailing lists.
