+1. we should defiantly migrate all local scripts such as maintenance cron jobs to a git repo and review the code. Eyal. ----- Original Message -----

Agreed. I wonder if we couldn't just use our puppet repo to distribute these files. If they're only used on our servers, I'd prefer that.

We plan to hold all scripts that are relevant to the ovirt build system. currently there are misc scripts scrattered locally on the resources.ovirt.org, and partly on jenkins which create mostly the nightly repos for ovirt. the intention is to consolidate all scripts relevant to the publication and mgmt of ovirt repos and any release process into a single git repository. eyal. ----- Original Message -----

i guess the question is why not use the current 'puppet' or 'jenkins' repos (I'm not opposed to a new one if needed, just asking)

I am not sure these scripts are related to puppet or jenkins repos. We want to create a bunch of scripts to: 1. Create new layouts on the repo server 2. Download builds from jenkins/koji and post them 3. Configure repo settings - for example how many nightly builds do you want to save ? 3,4 ? 4. Much more in the future Instead of that I hope our infra and release process will be improves in a near future, so better to have a separate repository for such tools. - Kiril ----- Original Message -----
