eyal edri updated OVIRT-1597:
-----------------------------
Epic Link: OVIRT-1572
Looking into various deployment options for KubeVirt on OpenShift
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Key: OVIRT-1597
URL:
https://ovirt-jira.atlassian.net/browse/OVIRT-1597
Project: oVirt - virtualization made easy
Issue Type: Task
Components: Lago, OpenShift, OST
Reporter: eyal edri
Assignee: infra
Priority: Highest
We need to start looking how to deploy KubeVirt on OpenShift using the official Ansible
playbook. [0]
Since we already have support in Lago for using Ansible and we support already CentOS
images, our first try will be to get OpenShift up and running using Lago.
However, we shouldn't ignore other options and after the initial work to get things
working, we might want to investigate them as well:
1. Via libvirt[1].
2. Using vagrant ( maybe also vagrant oVirt plugin for scale )
3. On top of RHV/oVirt[4] using the oVirt provider [2], but this will probably be
relevant only if we'll need to scale the test to run on more than one host
We also need to look into how we support various OpenShift versions and configurations
easily, so we'll be able to choose what to install on each test suite, for e.g:
1. Running on upstream OpenShift origin
2. Running on upstream OCP (downstream)
3. Testing various versions ( 3.6/master )
