Installing a vm on alterway02.ovirt.org

I'm trying to install a VM on alterway02.ovirt.org, but the network seems very unreliable. I gave it 31.15.26.5 and I'm not sure if it's our host, but I often see 89.31.150.107 reply:
From 89.31.150.107: icmp_seq=6 Destination Host Unreachable
This results into some packet loss / errors: 23 packets transmitted, 15 received, +8 errors, 34% packet loss, time 22026ms I thought we could use 31.15.26.1 to 31.15.26.10 so I didn't think I'd steal an IP from another machine. I also tried another IP (31.15.26.6), but that gives the same result. Is there anything I'm doing wrong?

Hi Ewoud, CCing Herve Leclerc (who I believe is on infra@) with this issue. Herve, what IP addresses can we use for VMs, please? Thanks, Dave. On 09/23/2013 11:34 AM, Ewoud Kohl van Wijngaarden wrote:

Hi Dave, I already discussed this with Herve Leclerc and was resolved. The problem turned out to be that ovirt has a default mac address pool so if you deploy more than one ovirt engine in the same (v)lan, you will get duplicate mac addresses. I changed the mac address pool to something else and had no problems since. Maybe we need to renumber our existing VMs on alterway02 as well to prevent more problems? Thanks Ewoud! Please ensure that problem resolutions are copied to the list - it educates the other list members & ensures we don't miss out answering questions because people assume someone else took it on - if there's no resolution on the list, that should mean that there is still an issue. Thanks! Dave. On 10/09/2013 11:47 AM, Ewoud Kohl van Wijngaarden wrote:

Hi Dave, I recall having it mentioned, but that might just be in the meeting minutes. I'll try to remember it for the next time. On Wed, Oct 09, 2013 at 12:12:03PM +0200, Dave Neary wrote:
