CentOS 7.3 is coming - and o-s-t's reposync needs updates

I suspect that now that CentOS 7.3 is coming, suddenly packages that we thought are only in updates are in the base channel - which we were not fetching them from. Two examples I'm seeing (and I've fixed manually) are libxml2-python and libxml2. I'll continue chasing it down. Y.
