Installing foreman on alterway02

I'm trying to install foreman on alterway02, but what IP space do we have? I noticed it's in a /24 block, but I doubt we can fully use that given the shortage of IPv4 space. I also limited the NFS access to just that /24 block instead of 0.0.0.0/0, but I'm sure we could limit it a but further. Lastly we should figure out how to manage DNS. It would be great if foreman could create entries.

Hi Servers have only one IP, do you need more ? Kevin 2013/4/2 Ewoud Kohl van Wijngaarden <ewoud+ovirt@kohlvanwijngaarden.nl>

We're installing virtual machines on alterway02 (in this particular case a foreman server) which need separate IPs. Also, are you planning to support IPv6? I noticed you don't have any prefixes (http://bgp.he.net/AS41628). I'd rather not fall back to NAT straight away, but I guess in oVirt you'd make a separate network and on the host you do the iptables magic required. Anyone has experience with this in case we are limited in our IP space?

Hi Ipv6 is not ready yet. I can provide you additional public IP but not now, you have to wait on the 17 april. Or I can give you the iptables rules that will NAT/MASQUERAD private vm IP to public manager IP. I can also do the port redirection to allow external access to VM. Let me know Kevin 2013/4/3 Ewoud Kohl van Wijngaarden <ewoud+ovirt@kohlvanwijngaarden.nl>

Hello, During todays meeting we decided we'd rather not use NAT so we'll wait till April 17. Please let us know if we need to provide some info like how many IPs we expect to need. On Wed, Apr 03, 2013 at 11:22:34AM +0200, Kevin Maziere Aubry wrote:

I was hoping that today during the meeting we could write up a short list, but since there was none today I'll write something from the top of my head. We're looking to split linode01 up into VMs and add something. - resources.ovirt.org - lists.ovirt.org - foreman.ovirt.org (includes a puppet master) Not sure where to place ovirtbot. I think a separate VM is overkill and it also hosts the meeting notes on resources.ovirt.org, that would be the best choice. Anything I forgot? what do you mean? if there are other services on linode we want to migrate to a vm?
