Okay. Thanks for the errors list. That is very helpful.
Unfortunately, I am even more puzzled. Where would that fall as far as
assigning permissions?
I would like to be able to give students access to the portal where they
can create their own machines. It looks like from the documentation that
roles of poweruser, vmcreator, and I have even tried diskcreator directly
on the storage domain, would do the trick.
So,....does this mean that you have to have superuser to create a disk?
That seems off as it would kind of make all the other privileges kinda
pointless.
What does "hosted engine resources" mean in this context? Does that mean
permissions applied to the hosted engine? Or does that mean something more
granular?
I have to be doing something stupid somewhere, as the permissions do not
seem to be working as they are supposed to. For some of these to work, like
vmcreator, I am finding issuing it through a group is not working very well
either. It seems to require the permissions directly assigned to the user.
Could you tell me if it is me, or might there be some permission subtleties
that might not be readily apparent in the documentation?
Thank you everyone for your help.

Hi Will,
According to the message behind the error [1], it seems that the students
need to have SuperUser permissions on hosted engine resources.
