You should have several hosts on which you can the self-hosted-engine, so you can move the
VM off the host you want to do maintenance on.
I would recommend having at least four, I personally run it up to eight, on large
datacenters. (most of my large datacenters are on quad-blade chassis, so I want to have
two full chassis of hosts)
To add SHE hosts, you will need to chose a host, and put it into maintenance mode.
Next to the Maintenance menu, is the Installation menu, you will need to select the
Reinstall option.
On the Reinstall dialog, select the Hosted-Engine tab, and from the pulldown menu, select
Deploy.
This will do a re-install of the KVM host software, configuring it to support the
Self-Hosted-Engine.
When it completes, the host should come up in Maintenance mode. Use the Maintenance
pulldown to activate it.
Give it a few minutes, the silver crown will show up in the same column as the gold one.
You can then use the same procedure to migrate the SHE between the hosts that support
it.
Limitations:
You cannot move the SHE between clusters. Whatever cluster it was created in (normally
"Default") is the cluster it must remain in.
I'm unsure if the system will even permit you "deploy" to a host outside the
initial cluster, but if it did, the first rule still applies.

Yes, I have only the gold crown on the host where the hosted engine is running. On the
second host, there is no crown; that field is empty.
When I installed it, I deployed the hosted engine on the host where I have the gold crown.
After this step, I created the cluster and added the second host. Do I need to perform any
additional steps every time I add a new host to the cluster to be able to migrate the
hosted engine VM?
