By the way. Pretty recently (I don't remember the version) we added some code to deal
with some proxy timeouts.
I don't know specifically nginx reverse proxy but many firewall/proxies to avoid DoS
enable some sort of timeouts.
More or less if there's no traffic for a while they close the connections.
The code in spice make sure there is some data traffic.
Specifically the commit is cff9d951aaf1d01ac9d4bac5829ffda1f6141162
("red-channel-client: Always enable latency monitor to keep tcp connection
alive")
which is included in upstream 0.14.3 version.
This patch (and the previous preparatory one) was ported to some RHV product (I don't
remember the version)
