We have supermicro ipmi and I tried pinging the ipmi from the node and that
works ok. telnet from cli also works.

What are the statuses of the fenced host and other hosts in the same cluster/dc ?
When do you get this error ? what is the scenario ?
What do you get if you invoke the /usr/sbin/fence_ipmilan script directly from one of your
hosts (with -o status) ??
