Postgresql-contrib was installed but create extension failed on syntax

vmhosts are back up now.
what a roller coaster!

Make sure you have the "postgresql-contrib" package installed, then try
this:
# psql -U postgres engine
engine# create extension "uuid-ossp";
After that restart the engine.
