Hi I think the last droped cpu was conroe and penryn. Xeon silver should be fine.
I work on E5-2650v3 without any problem.
You could search for CPU Types on the release notes of major versions 4.4.0 and 4.5.0.
In 4.3.0 Conroe and Penryn was dropped
