Le 19/04/2018 =C3=A0 12:26, Bartomeu F. Sastre a =C3=A9crit=C2=A0:
Hi, I would like to manage 2 separated data centers, one in a site
and =
another place connected with optic fiber.
exactly the same here
so I guess that I have to use 2 engines, one in each data center.
you can also
* use one engine for 2DCs
* if you use a common shared data domain (commonly NFS or iscsi), you
can run only one DC, so you will be able to start your vms
everywhere over your both DCs in a disaster case.
Would they be able to see each other and move machines from one to anot=
her ?
* in the case of two engines, clearly not, you'll have to use export
domain to move your vms.
* in the case of 2 DCs that share common data domains, you'll be able
to move shutdown vms editing the DC/cluster in the properties tabs.
* in the common shared data domain, you'll be able to live migrate vms
if their hosts belong to the same cluster. If not, Shutdown your vms
and move them to the targetted cluster
So I want to schedule backups to send periodically machines form
the =
production DC to the backup DC, and in case of an emergency be able to st=
art the VM on the backup data center.
You can use vm backup script that can save your vm to
* the (NFS) export domain. When restoring you'll have to import all
your vms, it can be a very long process
* an other data domain, and reattach it to your backup DC.
thanks !
