I ran "iptables -F" on the engine and host no luck. The engine and the two
hosts are on the same /24 layer 2 network. I can ping both ways.

in any case, you have a communication problem between the engine and the
hosts.
when engine cannot get status on the vdsm, hosts will move to
non-responsive.
