Question:
Is there a way to set the webadmin to only use NoVNC as a default for the
console? Since the devs decided to remove the popup window and only
download a file, it added several steps for me to be able to look at the
console on my Mac. There isn't a packaged viewer for spice on OSX as of
yet and every time I have tried to get it installed it fails. So, my only
option is VNC of which there are none that will open the .vv files.

if you select noVNC in 'Console Options' for some VM, this choice should be
remembered in your browser for this VM. So next time when you're connecting via VNC,
noVNC client is used. Is this what you're looking for?

I am asking for a way to make it to be the default for ALL vm's as we have
multiple users working on this. Plus with over 30 vm's it is quite a pain
to have each person to set each one individually (we haven't fully migrated
over to 3.3 from 3.1 at the moment.) It does not scale to larger
installations.

did you try http://www.spice-space.org/page/OSX_Client ?
for VNC - associate the .vv with a TextEdit or something similar, and do =
copy&paste of credentails as you were doing from the popup
for noVNC, well, it's a per user and browser setting (for all VMs), but =
no easy way how to set it in advance for many users. There is a global =
option for SPICE to select either plugin or .vv, but that doesn't appl =
to the new browser-only clinets. But that should be relatively easy to =
implement=85Franta?

let me just refine - the browser-side persistence applies per user and vm.
Michal, you're right - there is no way to configure it engine-wide, but it
wouldn't be a problem to implement it.

I've been experimenting with oVirt 3.2 on some old hardware, and am now
preparing to buy new hardware for using oVirt 3.3 in production. I'm
interested in any feedback about what I plan to purchase. I want to
keep the setup as simple as possible. Our current environment consists
of mostly CentOS 6.4 systems.
The combined oVirt engine and file server will be a Dell R720 with dual
Xeon E5-2660 and 64 GB of memory. The server would have an LSI 9207-8i

between a central nfs server, and distributed storage on the nodes.
As I've mentioned before, we don't use LDAP for authentication, so I'll

well, you could also launch an openldap/ipa/ad/etc. in a VM. of course

I was thinking of doing this if I had to, but it's still a lot of
headache for a few logins.

I've never tried. I don't often need to power off hosts the hard way..
a reboot it usually fine. When I do need to power manage hosts, I go
into the Raritan KVM, click on the host, and turn it off, and back on,
and everything is fine. I haven't done any connection to Linux.

able to do out-of-band power management.
If you're going to spend the money for three R620's with 128 GB of RAM each and
dual cpu's, you might be a little better off with a 2nd root HDD for redundancy.

Absolutely.. but installing a whole O/S just to get the ability to
mirror the root disk is a bit overkill :)
I might use the hardware RAID option... I do wish that the node
supported md... md raid1 (or heck, even lvm raid1) works great...

since "open /Applications/RemoteViewer.app --args ~/Downloads/x.vv" from
Terminal actually works, perhaps following [1] would be easy
