I use quite a lot of my own config and vdsm restores his version of
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-* on each start. Can the
restore_nets be disabled somehow?

This has helped after all :

Add the line "net_persistence = ifcfg" which now uses the
manual
created network configuration
