In a hosted-engine deployment has anyone had to migrate to a new iSCSI =
SAN? I can not figure out how to move the engine(s) to a new iSCSI =
target.. The SAN=E2=80=99s can fully replicate to one another and I can =
move the LUN to the other device but don=E2=80=99t see how to stop the =
engine and change the settings for it=E2=80=99s iSCSI target to another =
IP/IQN. Any direction would be greatly appreciated - I am looking for =

Hi Bill,
in order to provide HA, the hosted-engine HA services should be able to
autonomously connect the shared storage from each hosted-engine involved
host.
The storage configuration is in /etc/ovirt-hosted-engine/hosted-engine.conf
So:
1. set global-maintenance mode
2. shutdown the engine VM
3. manually edit /etc/ovirt-hosted-engine/hosted-engine.conf on each host
4. here we have a delicate point: on restart ovirt-ha-agent will connect
the new storage server but the issue is that it will not call
disconnectStorageServer on the previously connected one so you will
probably end with VDSM that has still a reference also to the previous
location and this can cause timeouts and so on if not available. Restarting
VDSM is probably not enough since the the symlinks under /var/run/vdsm will
not be refreshed if they are already there ( ) so I'd suggest to reboot
all the hosts to avoid any possible issue.

Excuse my ignorance, I am not exactly sure what you are asking. I can =
see the vm and control it with hosted-engine on the node itself and can =
use the web administration page as well as SSH into the VM, it appears =
functionally fine. However the Hosted Engine VM does not show up in the =
web gui and I had thought that was by design but I am not sure. Is there =
anything you want me to check? Thanks again for your continued patience.

the vm and control it with hosted-engine on the node itself and can use the
web administration page as well as SSH into the VM, it appears functionally
fine. However the Hosted Engine VM does not show up in the web gui and I
had thought that was by design but I am not sure. Is there anything you

On oVirt 3.6, the engine should auto-import the hosted-engine storage
domain into the engine and you should see the engine VM in the engine as a
regular VM.
You will be able to manage that VM and edit soma parameters from the
engine; all the modification will be saved in the OVF_STORE and reload by
ovirt-ha-agent when the engine VM will restart.
Can you please check if you see the hosted-engine storage domain into the
engine webadmin?

No it does not appear in the web tool. I just see the iSCSI domains I =

Thanks, I have the hosted-engine moved and it is appearing in the GUI. I =
deleted it from the storage domain and then reimported it. I also =
changed the IQN in the answers file and hosted engine config The last =
issue I am running into is now I am trying to add 2nd hosted engine to =
bring everything back to a redundant state. When I do so it gets all the =
way until the end and fails with this - any insight? The host is =
reachable, it retrieves the answer file, I can ping and log into it =
etc...

the GUI. I deleted it from the storage domain and then reimported it. I =
also changed the IQN in the answers file and hosted engine config The =
last issue I am running into is now I am trying to add 2nd hosted engine =
to bring everything back to a redundant state. When I do so it gets all =
the way until the end and fails with this - any insight? The host is =
reachable, it retrieves the answer file, I can ping and log into it =

Is the engine VM able to reach your second host by its hostname?
Can you please attach engine.log from the engine VM?

You're using 3.6.1? That was a problem seen there. You can try to destroy
