What storage are you using? I could not reproduce this. Can you check if the qcow file created is intact? You can probably use `qemu-img check` to do this On Wed, Apr 24, 2019 at 11:26 PM Alex McWhirter <alex@triadic.us> wrote:
Every template, when you make a desktop VM out of it and then delete that VM. If you make a server VM there are no issues.

Does it happen all the time? For every template you create? Or is it for a specific template?

oVirt is 4.2.7.5 VDSM is 4.20.43
Not sure which logs are applicable, i don't see any obvious errors in vdsm.log or engine.log. After you delete the desktop VM, and create another based on the template the new VM still boots, it just reports disk read errors and fails boot.

can you provide more info (logs, versions)?

1. Create server template from server VM (so it's a full copy of the disk)
2. From template create a VM, override server to desktop, so that it become a qcow2 overlay to the template raw disk.
3. Boot VM
4. Shutdown VM
5. Delete VM
Template disk is now corrupt, any new machines made from it will not boot.
I can't see why this happens as the desktop optimized VM should have just been an overlay qcow file... _______________________________________________ Users mailing list -- users@ovirt.org To unsubscribe send an email to users-leave@ovirt.org Privacy Statement: https://www.ovirt.org/site/privacy-policy/ oVirt Code of Conduct: https://www.ovirt.org/community/about/community-guidelines/ List Archives: https://lists.ovirt.org/archives/list/users@ovirt.org/message/F4DGO7N3LL4DPE...
