If you had hard times to arrange everything and know=0A= how to deal with it, the tool works quite well. Nevertheless for=0A= for new users this can be very frustrating. =0A= =0A= The two most annoying things are for me:=0A= =0A= - Migration is sequential and slow. We have a lot of big SAP systems=0A= with 250GB++. The infrastructure is backed by a 10G IPoIB network =0A= that can easily copy files between NFS server at sustained speed of =0A= 500MB/s. virt-v2v cannot go beyond 40MB/s and thus about 2 hours=0A= to migrate a machine. I understand that the process involves a "long" =0A= chain ESXNFS->ESX->virt-v2v->OVirtNFS. Maybe one should think =0A= of providing a parametrization to copy multiple disk images at the =0A= same time. =0A= =0A= - Even worse is to wait 2 hours for the migration to finish and getting=0A= afterwards errors about missing entries in virt-v2v.db or problems=0A= during mount of the VM filesystems. Maybe the step or at least a check=0A= could be issued after the migration of the (small) OS/boot disk.=0A= =0A= Markus=0A= =0A= ------=_NextPartTM-000-ccd9a7a9-9ae2-40a0-a795-247b884365d5 Content-Type: text/plain; name="InterScan_Disclaimer.txt" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="InterScan_Disclaimer.txt" **************************************************************************** Diese E-Mail enthält vertrauliche und/oder rechtlich geschützte Informationen.
