"virsh resume HostedEngine" asks me for a username which is not set, so I'm wondering how to get this working.
you can try with virsh -c qemu:///system?authfile=/etc/ovirt-hosted-engine/virsh_auth.conf resume HostedEngine but I agree that --vm-resume will be needed as well.
