I was able to restart vdsmd
'service vdsmd restart'
From there - I was able to issue the stop destroy command:
'vdsClient -s 0 destroy 41703d5c-6cdb-42b4-93df-d78be2776e2b'
Once that was done, I was able to REMOVE the VM from the GUI.

No joy - the shutdown appears to start - but eventually the VM shows as running again. There is NO process running that shows up with ps command.
