Or will a dedicated libvirt rhev package be released so as the downstream to support it (like qemu-kvm for live snapshot some time ago)? Documentation and limitation of the libvirt version for hot plug memory are difficult to find in the ovirt wiki and more generally on the web. Maybe the feature has been postponed to a 3.6.z release?

was the VM started in a 3.6 cluster? sure, on a full 3.6 cluster. I stopped/restarted them. I restarted vdsmd=20 and libvirtd Or how/when did you create it?
ml, those vms have been created before uprading to 3.6, some of them from a=20 blank template, other one based on a el7 template.
