I forgot one piece: can I install the ovirt vdsm (agent) on centos?
I have some centos servers in my test lab (hp microservers...) and I
can use ovirt with them but I would like to maintain centos.
Thanks again,
Mario

Versions are different so you'll need to use oVirt agent instead.

No we explicitly require KVM.
