Try running the command "kvm-ok" I'm not sure what package it's

but it will tell you if your system supports the CPU virtualization
commands required to run KVM. If kvm-ok isn't installed, you can try
running "egrep '(vmx|svm)' /proc/cpuinfo" vmx means you have Intel
virtualization support, while svm is the AMD implementation. IE, on my
Intel i5 I get a bunch of lines like this: (**'s added for emphasis)
This will only tell you if the CPU supports virtualization - it may still
be disabled by the BIOS.
Looking at the KVM module is the best approach:
