OK. That worked with a little help.
The help being:
- create a new temporary small storage domain, activate it and
then if the hosted-engine storage domain is already imported
remove it first. Wait a bit and then it will import correctly.
- Tried to import my existing storage domain but couldn't because
no active storage domain.
Might have been my install although it was rather clean. Only
thing it has been upgraded from various 3.6.x install to 3.6.1RC4
on F22 host and C7.1 hosted-engine.
Second install is a bit larger. It consists of a NAS (for NFS) and
3 hosts, all FC22 and hosted-engine being C7.1.
The first host is my work workstation so has been upgraded from
F19 to F22 but seems to be working nicely sofar. Got some NFS
shares setup on the NAS to provide:
/nfs/ovirt/data
/nfs/ovirt/export
/nfs/ovirt/iso
/nfs/ovirt/he
Ran hosted-engine --deploy and all went fine. Ended up with a
working install. Albeit I had to create a dummy SD and then the
import of the hosted-engine SD and my old 3.5 SDs worked.
So next I tried to add the second host but got an error (attached)
about the storage domain not being clean. Hosted-engine correctly
detected that it was a second install.
Thanks for the report.
I opened a bug against that:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1291234
A patch for that is under testing:
https://gerrit.ovirt.org/#/c/50417/
Tried the patch and could add my second host to the cluster :-)
Thanks,
Joop
